The Ponte Vecchio in Florence, originally built in the 14th century, the Trecento.

SER PIERO DA VINCI was Leonardo’s father, a successful, middle-class legal notary to merchant families in Florence. He did not play an active role in raising Leonardo, who was his first child, born out of wedlock by Leonardo’s mother, Caterina. Ser Piero went on to have four wives and at least twelve legitimate children.
